PureSky’s Falmouth Solar Projects Receive Broad Support at Town Meeting

Falmouth, MA — November 17, 2025 — PureSky Energy is proud to announce that its three new solar projects on the site of the Cape Cod Country Club have passed another significant milestone at the Falmouth Representative Town Meeting. More than two-thirds of Falmouth town meeting members voted to authorize the Town to accept the land donation and grant it decision-making authority to enter into a long-term lease and other agreements to develop, operate, and manage solar energy facilities and related projects.

Under this proposal, the land will remain part of the Falmouth community. PureSky will donate the property to the Town of Falmouth and lease a portion for the three solar projects, while keeping green spaces open to the public, protecting local water quality, and generating clean, affordable energy close to home.

“With this approval, we are one step closer to a cleaner, more sustainable future that also delivers real benefits for Falmouth residents,” said Dan Skizim, Senior Director of Development (Northeast/Mid-Atlantic) at PureSky Energy and a Massachusetts resident. “Our proposal ensures this land continues to serve the community, and we look forward to continuing our work with the Town on this project that truly is a win for Falmouth, its residents, and the environment.”

Together, the three projects will generate enough locally produced clean energy to power thousands of homes and businesses—while transforming a large portion of the property into permanently protected open space. As part of the plan, approximately 137 acres will be donated to the Town of Falmouth. That includes more than 55 acres of permanently conserved open space and wetlands. This area will be restored as native pollinator meadows and tree plantings, creating new habitats for local wildlife and reducing the environmental pressures once associated with golf course maintenance. The remaining acres will primarily host the solar arrays and battery storage systems.

This transition will significantly improve local water quality by reducing nitrogen and phosphorus from fertilizers in stormwater runoff by an estimated 98 percent. PureSky Energy has also committed up to $414,000 over the next decade to support long-term water quality monitoring efforts in partnership with local organizations. In addition to the environmental benefits, the projects are designed to advance energy equity: at least 15% of the solar energy will be dedicated to low- and moderate-income households at no cost, and 35% of the energy will be available to residents and small businesses who will receive guaranteed 20% savings on their electric energy supply.

The land donation will preserve existing and open new recreational opportunities for the community, including walking trails, open fields, and a sledding hill, while the projects themselves will provide local construction jobs and generate new revenue for the town from the lease and taxes. By converting the golf course into a source of clean energy, open space, and community benefit, these projects show how renewable energy development can align with local values and priorities.

With this approval secured, the three projects will now go before the Falmouth Planning Board for site plan review on Nov. 25.
